Holy communion class

Our second class pupils had their enrollment ceremony to prepare for their first holt communion. They prepared some lovely songs and prayers with their teacher, Ms Shalvey and they celebrated the occasion in Ballydugan church with Fr Iomar and their parents.

Cycling training days

The children from fifth and sixth classes had a few sessions with cycling instructors to improve their cycling skills and to learn more about road safety. They really enjoyed the lessons despite the rainy weather they had to put up with!

Galway jersey day

Today everyone wore the Galway colours to school in anticipation of the All Ireland finals on Sunday. All the children are very excited about the matches. They have been painting banners and pictures to show their support to the Galway teams. However, there was one little Waterford fan who managed to sneak in to school this morning!

We wish the Galway teams the very best of luck, especially our past pupils Brian Molloy, Conor Molloy and Ronan Glennon who are playing with our county teams on Sunday. Gaillimh abú!

Last day for 6th class, 2017

On Friday, we had our last day at school before the Summer holidays but we also marked the last day at our school for our current sixth class. We had a prayer service where the children from 6th class read  prayers, their reflections of their time in school, stories and they sang a special song to say goodbye. As usual Kathleen gave them her parting gift of a book of photos which they will have to look back on their eight years of fun and learning together.

Ms Duffy also presented certificates of attendance to those pupils who missed no days and those who missed only one day this year. Well done to all of you!

Our sixth class children were a lovely class and they will be greatly missed. We wish all of them the very best of luck in secondary school and we hope that you all will visit us in the future!

Happy holidays everyone! Have a great Summer, enjoy the rest and we will see you all for the beginning of a new school year on August 30th.

Shane Dolphin visit

Thank you to our past pupil, Shane Dolphin for visiting all the classes with his young lamb. Shane talked to each class about taking care of newborn animals on the farm and shared his great knowledge and experience with us. It was very interesting and a valuable lesson for all. Thank you Shane!

Mrs Larkins cake!

One of the highlights of Mrs Larkin’s day of celebrations was the amazing cake she received from our Parents Association. The attention to detail, creativity and hard work needed to produce this cake was admired by everyone. Each side of the cake shows something that Mrs Larkin will be most remembered for: the nativity play, teddy bears picnic, the new school building, reading and writing and finally the top of the cake shows Mary’s greatest legacy;the sandpit where many of the children spent their time digging tunnels and constructing roads, mountains and volcanoes! Thanks to Bake A Licious by Michelle for such a wonderful cake to mark the special occasion. It was a shame to cut it!
